Minutes for March 20th 2014. Monterey Cultural Council @ 4pm.
Council Members Present: Wendy Jensen, Fiona De Ris, Kit Patten,
Emma Micklewright, Pat Salomon, Susan Johnson, Roz Halberstadter
Old Business:
Easy Ridin’ Papas was a great success, good turn out, good mix of ages. Kit to
handle the invoice.
Kit to process reimbursement for Berkshire Pulse and Shakespeare and
Company.
3 Applications from Berkshire Fringe arrived late. Kit to call them and explain
they were not addressed to the correct mailbox and that all funds have been
already been distributed.
New Business/Future Events:
There was a low sign-up for the maple sugaring event with Bonner McAllister.
The sum of $150 for reimbursement was discussed.
Susan has contacted Conrad Olman from Beartown State Forest to guide a 60-
90 minute walk/talk in May/June. The sum of $200 for reimbursement was
discussed.
It was agreed that Don and The Lucky Few should be hired again to perform in
the church basement. This should happen by the end of June. The sum of
$350/$400 for reimbursement was discussed.
Pat Shalon from IS183 will be giving a pottery talk on May 31st at Monterey
Library.
Roz mentioned that Peggy Reeves would like to give a talk on Iphone
photography. It was agreed to hold this until July.
Other business:
Roz to check in with Kyle about the idea of a MCC Pre-Grant talk at the
Community Supper. It would be an opportunity to tell everyone what we do.
Perhaps we could use posters/boards of past events to advertise it.
The idea of having a ‘MCC Year at a Glance’ calendar was discussed. A master
list of our events could be good for people to plan their calendars. A quarterly
calendar would also work.
